As the COVID-19 pandemic forced people to work remotely, Zoom took the world by storm in spite of known privacy and security concerns. Users embraced digital platforms, tacitly consenting to give away personal data for convenience and a free service. As our institutions navigate their engagements with tech companies, are we exposing our visitors to risk? What responsibility do we have as museums' technologists in using platforms ethically?
