Shannon Nortz is Co-Chair of the D.C. Emerging Museum Professionals organization for the board term of 2020-2022. She is Founder of SN Musaeum Methods, LLC, a newly formed professional development consultancy which empathetically guides clients through their museum career journeys and conducts research to advance professional innovation in the cultural field. She is also the Co-Chair of the D.C. Emerging Museum Professionals group. In January 2022, Shannon completed a year-long contract with MuseumDev, a training company based in Los Angeles. Before this, she interned at the Smithsonian Institution from 2018-2019 before working as the Professional Development Contractor for the Smithsonian's collections administration from 2019-2021.
Shannon holds a Bachelor's in History with a minor in Museum Studies, a Bachelor's in Art History, and a Master's degree in Museum and Cultural Heritage Studies from Florida State University. In 2021, Shannon earned a post-graduate certificate in Museum Studies from the Harvard Extension School and is a current graduate student at Johns Hopkins University.
