Ingrid Forster is the Communications and Digital Media Lead for The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ontario. The RMG is the largest public art gallery in Durham Region, exhibiting both modern and contemporary Canadian art. Ingrid holds a B.F.A. in Art Education (Visual Arts + Photography) from Concordia University, an M.A. in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University, and an M.D.M. in Digital Media from Ryerson University.
Ingrid is interested in Innovation and critical thinking at the intersection of art and cultural heritage, digital media, and public engagement. Her current research and work includes digital transformation in the art museum sector, focusing on how art museums might leverage digital technology to increase public engagement, democratize access to collections, and become more inclusive spaces. Ingrid is also interested in the power of digital storytelling and enthusiastic about the potential of AR, XR/MR, and VR, as these become increasingly accessible tools for museums to engage their audiences.
